Fernando Cruz Valle had a solid conclusion to the tournament with a 1-over par final round of 73. He led his team at the Lone Star Invitational in San Antonio, TX, finishing twenty-second-place in the field with a 2-under par 214 (77-64-73). Louisiana-Lafayette finished the tournament in eleventh after scoring a 7-over par, 871 (293-276-302). Fernando Cruz Valle recorded three birdies and four bogeys in his final round, on a warm Tuesday. He was seven strokes back of the individual winner, Ronneblad of Texas Tech. For the final round of the tournament, Louisiana-Lafayette carded a 4-over par 76 from Chris Verrougstraete, a 76 by Thomas Strandemo, a 77 by Haraldur Magnus, and Ross Davis shot a 79.

Texas Tech won the tournament with a team total of 835 (275-274-286), followed by Southeastern Louisiana in second-place with a 846, (272-286-288), and to round out the top three, UTEP with a total of 850, (294-274-282).
