Post Round 1 Report : Florida Southern

Florida Southern finished the first round of the Bearcat Spring Classic in sixth-place. Britta Bernth shot a team best first round 3-over par, 75, at the Mission Inn Resort Los Colinas. Florida Southern is 16 shots behind the leader, Memphis.

Bernth carded one birdie, two bogeys, and one double bogey in her first time around the course. Bernth is currently five strokes behind the individual leader, Emily Goldenstein of Memphis. Her 3-over par 75 beat her previous season low round of four-over par.

For the round, Florida Southern shot a 6-over par 78 from Emily Rymer, a 80 from Colleen Panosian, a 81 from Abbey Williams, and Kit Creighton shot a 82 for the round.

Memphis jumped out to an early lead, with a team total of 298. NDSU (303) is in second, while Cincinnati (312), Seminole State (312), and Seton Hall (312) are currently in a tie for third at the tournament.
