Post Round 1 Report : Jacksonville

Jacksonville finished the first round of the Bearcat Spring Classic in a tie for seventh-place. Shania Berger shot a team best first round 5-over par, 77, at the Mission Inn Resort Los Colinas. Jacksonville is 18 shots behind the leader, Memphis.

Berger recorded two birdies and seven bogeys in her first round. Berger is currently seven strokes behind the individual leader, Emily Goldenstein of Memphis.

For the round, Jacksonville shot a 6-over par 78 from Jessica Welch, a 80 from Megan Collins, a 81 from Sabrina Rumbaugh, and MJ Fueyo shot a 83 for the round.

Memphis hopped out ahead of the field to start the tournament, with a team total of 298. NDSU (303) is second-place, with Cincinnati (312), Seminole State (312), and Seton Hall (312) are currently in a tie for third at the tournament.
