Post Round 1 Report : NIU

NIU finished the first round of the Bearcat Spring Classic in a tie for seventh-place. Peyton Gunnison shot a team best first round 5-over par, 77, at the Mission Inn Resort Los Colinas. NIU is 18 shots behind the leader, Memphis.

Gunnison carded one birdie and six bogeys in her initial time around the Mission Inn Resort Los Colinas. Gunnison is currently seven strokes behind the individual leader, Emily Goldenstein of Memphis.

For the round, NIU shot a 6-over par 78 from Sam Coyne, a 80 from Lena Gautier, a 81 from Connie Ellett, and Sydney Brickey shot a 86 for the round.

Memphis jumped out to an early lead, with a team total of 298. NDSU (303) is in second, while Cincinnati (312), Seminole State (312), and Seton Hall (312) are currently in a tie for third at the tournament.
