Post Round 1 Report : Illinois State

Illinois State finished the first round of the Bearcat Spring Classic in a tie for eleventh-place. Lauren English shot a team best first round 6-over par, 78, at the Mission Inn Resort Los Colinas. Illinois State is 21 shots behind the leader, Memphis.

English recorded one birdie and seven bogeys in her first round. English is currently eight strokes behind the individual leader, Emily Goldenstein of Memphis. Her 6-over par 78 was better than her season average round of seven-over par.

For the round, Illinois State shot an 8-over par 80 from Kiley Walsh, a 80 from Brianna Cooper, a 81 from Abby Luchtenburg, and Renee Solberg shot a 84 for the round.

Memphis hopped out ahead of the field to start the tournament, with a team total of 298. NDSU (303) is second-place, with Cincinnati (312), Seminole State (312), and Seton Hall (312) are currently in a tie for third at the tournament.
